The Kardashians are known for their head-turning styles, but Kourtney Kardashian's wedding dress may have taken the cake.

For her May 2022 nuptials to husband Travis Barker in Portofino, Italy, Kourtney opted for a truly unique look, donning a short, lace lingerie-inspired Dolce & Gabbana frock with a satin corset and a sweeping hand-embroidered veil. For the reception, she changed into a black minidress of the same style.

She previously wore a vintage Versace top for her April 2022 Las Vegas "practice wedding" and an archival Dolce & Gabbana minidress for her May 2022 courthouse ceremony.

The designs were completely different from the floor-length Givenchy gown with long sleeves that her sister Kim Kardashian rocked during her 2014 wedding to Kanye West or the mermaid-style Vera Wang dress that her sister Khloé Kardashian wore for her 2009 wedding to Lamar Odom.

For Kourtney, however, the dramatic looks were a “dream come true.” “This was all planned and made into my dream come true all so so quickly and I'm so grateful to everyone who put their all into making it all happen!” she wrote on Instagram in March 2023.

Here's everything to know about Kourtney Kardashian's wedding dresses.

Kourtney wed Barker on three separate occasions: in a Las Vegas ceremony after the 2022 Grammys that wasn't legally binding, in an ultra-intimate courthouse ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif., and in a larger Italian ceremony that Kourtney told Vogue served as the couple's “main” wedding.

The oldest Kardashian sister had different looks for each event. For her first, non-legal wedding ceremony in Las Vegas on April 4, 2022, Kourtney forwent a dress for a vintage Versace top.

“It had the cross in the middle—I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, how perfect,' ” she later recalled of the look to Vogue. She topped it off with a Saint Laurent jacket with heart studs that she later lost. “I offered a reward on my Instagram,” she revealed to the outlet, adding, “I haven't heard from anybody.”

The minidress she wore for her courthouse wedding, which took place on May 15, 2022, was an archival look from Dolce & Gabbana. The simple design featured a bustier top, a thigh-high hemline and a bleeding heart detail on the bodice. The bride topped the look off with a matching Dolce & Gabbana hooded veil with sheer sleeves.

For the dress during her main Italian religious ceremony on May 22, 2022, Kourtney opted for a more intricate version of her courthouse look. The Dolce & Gabbana minidress kept the bustier silhouette and Roman Catholic imagery, but featured lace, satin and a high-drama veil with custom embroidery.

She also later changed into a fourth frock — a black minidress of the same design — for her wedding reception at Castello Brown.

Her wedding dress was inspired by a Guns ‘N' Roses music video

Kourtney revealed that she first got the idea to wear a minidress to her Italian ceremony after seeing Axl Rose's ex-girlfriend and "November Rain" music video muse Stephanie Seymour walk down the aisle in a high-low dress that hit at the mid-thigh.

“The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis and I were watching Guns N' Roses 'November Rain' video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other, ‘This has to be our wedding,' ” the Poosh founder wrote on Instagram in March 2023. “She was wearing a short dress and I thought to myself, ‘I need a short dress!' "

As for the gown's finer details, Kourtney shared via the social media platform that she looked to a 1990 Blumarine campaign featuring Monica Bellucci. The Blumarine dress was a breast-baring wedding dress that used the corset as a push-up — with nothing covering the chest except mesh.

Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana was behind Kourtney's now-famous minidress.

The reality star opened up to Voguein May 2022 about her experience working with the designing duo, saying, “Designing my dresses with Domenico [Dolce] and Stefano [Gabbana] has been a dream come true in every way.”

In addition to providing Kourtney's wedding gown, Dolce & Gabbana also dressed Barker, who wore a black double-breasted suit. The brand also styled several of the couple's guests, with Kourtney "hand-selecting" the wedding ensembles from the brand's ‘90s archive.

While some brides undergo multiple rounds of fittings before making their way down the aisle, Kourtney revealed to Vogue that Dolce and Gabbana only had one shot to get the fit of her gown just right.

“We had one real fitting in Milan,” she told the publication. “I remember [Dolce] was, with his teeth, taking the bones out of the boning out of the sample dress. Then he just completely re-structured that dress on me,” she said. “He's such an artist.”

Kourtney opened up about the sentimental gift she received from mom Kris Jenner ahead of her walk down the aisle in her and Barker's Hulu wedding special, 'Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis.

“She gave me her wedding ring from my dad,” she said.

Kourtney's father, Robert Kardashian Sr., died on Sept. 30, 2003, of esophageal cancer at the age of 59. The gift was extra meaningful to Kourtney, who admitted she has long dreaded Robert Sr.'s absence on her big day.

“When my dad died, I remember thinking, 'I never want to get married because my dad isn't there to walk me down the aisle. And so that gift meant so much,' " she said in the clip.

Kourtney also opened up about the bond she feels like her dad would've had with her husband. "My dad would've loved Travis and Travis reminds me so much of my dad in the weirdest ways," she said. "I felt his presence and a sense of calm.”

Her veil included words and artwork inspired by Travis' head tattoo

Kourtney's cathedral-length veil was the star of the show during the couple's Portofino ceremony, due in large part to the hand-embroidered artwork at its center.

As the entrepreneur later wrote on Instagram, the design featured elements from her husband's head tattoo of the Virgin Mary, including the words “family, loyalty, respect.”

“When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis's head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt,” Kourtney wrote in March 2023.

She discussed the design process for her veil with Vogue, telling the publication, “I sent Dolce & Gabbana inspiration of these super long, beautiful romantic lace veils in churches, dripping, draping down the floor. They presented the idea of his tattoo on the sketches. The second I saw it I was like, ‘This is what it has to be.' ”

According to Vogue, the veil was also hand-embroidered with flowers inspired by the town's Mediterranean gardens.

"When we knew our wedding was going to be in Portofino, it also influenced the vibes and feeling of the dress," Kourtney shared in her March 2023 Instagram post. "I also just wanted to feel like we ran off to Italy and got married and wanted the dress and wedding to feel that way!"

Her veil got stuck on a bush

In one unforgettable moment seen in 'Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis, the bride's veil repeatedly got caught on a bush, causing Kourtney to pause as she descended the stairs to the altar.

She reflected on the moment to Vogue, noting the incident's silver lining. “It did give me a second to pause and caused me not to rush through it,” she said.

Kourtney also pointed out that the cause for her delay went unnoticed by guests. “No one knew what was happening,” she said. “I asked everyone, ‘Did you guys know?' Nobody knew!”

Once the couple said their vows, Kourtney changed out of her bridal corset into a black minidress of the same design.

"Stefano [Gabbana] said, what if we did a black version at nighttime? I thought that was so cool," she recalled to Vogue. "So we did the black version to change into."

In addition to her darker mini dress, which she showed off via Instagram, Kourtney opted for a shortened veil.

Later in the evening, Kourtney sported a gray leather “Mrs. Barker” jacket, which matched Barker's “Mr. Barker” one.

Kourtney showed off a framed homage to her wedding veil via social media in June 2024, which features the Virgin Mary design and the words “family, loyalty, respect.”

According to Page Six, the piece was not constructed from the actual veil, but was a smaller replica that was created by Dolce & Gabbana and gifted to the couple to display in their home.
