Anthony Michael Hall Says Finding His ‘Soulmate’ and Becoming a Dad at 55 Changed His Life (Exclusive)

Hall says fatherhood and marriage are his greatest roles

For Anthony Michael Hall, finding love and family later in life was worth the wait.

“I have found my soulmate,” he tells PEOPLE of his Slovakian-born wife Licia Oskerova, whom he married in 2020. “I have, and I love her.”

The star, 58, who rose to fame in the ’80s and is now starring on the FOX competition series Nation’s Dumbest, says becoming a dad later in life was also the greatest thing to happen to him.

“I couldn’t be happier because I always knew, even when I was a young man, that I wanted to get started later,” he told PEOPLE in 2024, of welcoming son Michael when he was 55.

“Fatherhood and being a husband—that’s absolutely the greatest role,” Hall continues. “It’s a full-time job ... but we love it. We just embrace it, and our son such a joy.”

He shares of his son, “We started him in preschool about six months ago. He’s doing great. He’s eating so much—I mean, this kid is like a little giant. He looks like he’s 5 years old already. But we’re having a great time. It’s incredible.”

In 2023, he and his wife renewed their vows after their first wedding went awry due to the pandemic.

“Like many, when COVID arrived, we were forced to reschedule our plan: to be married at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Miami on 11.11.20,” Anthony wrote online. “Being romantics, we decided we’d get married anyway, which we did, in a private civil ceremony on November 7th, 2020 on the beach in Miami.”

He continued, “Being a man of my word, I had promised Lucia that we would stick to our original plans. We would still be married at St. Mary’s Cathedral, sometime in the near future.”

He added that he was thrilled their son got to be with him. “I am happy and so blessed to introduce.. My Family,” Anthony wrote on social media, alongside photos of Lucia and baby Michael. “The Hall family. We shall live — happily, ever after.”
