Dolly Parton is taking a good look at her life after celebrating her 80th birthday.
The country icon marked her 80th trip around the sun on Monday, Jan. 19 by releasing a new version of her song "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" and spoke about the occasion in a video shared to Instagram the following day — complete with a joke about her experience with plastic surgery.
"Well, hey there! It’s Dolly, and I’ve made it! I’m 80 years old," she began the clip. "Can you believe that? Anyway, what do you give somebody that’s 80 years old? Well, you don’t take gifts. You give things."

Parton continued, "I’m gonna give you the gift of a bunch of friends that stopped by to help me sing on a song called ‘Light of a Clear Blue Morning,’ a song I wrote years ago. In fact, it’s 50 years old. We did a new version of it, Kent Wells producing it, and then I’m giving you the gift of Queen Latifah, Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus and Lainey Wilson, with David Foster playing the piano."
She expressed feeling as though the new version "really lifts us up this day and time," noting, "Lord knows we could use that, right?"
The "Jolene" singer-songwriter added, "Anyway, thank you for all the birthday wishes. And I hope I live another 80 years, but I hope I’ve still got my plastic surgeons in line."
"Oh Lord, I’ve outlived so many plastic surgeons," said Parton with a laugh. "Well, happy birthday to me!"
Around the Grammy winner's 74th birthday in 2020, she spoke to 60 Minutes about wanting to recreate her October 1978 cover of Playboy and joked that her "boobs are still the same" as when she did the photoshoot at age 32.
She also opened up at the time about plastic surgery. “I’ve had about all the nips and tucks I can have,” Parton said. “The good part with me though, I have my own look. I look kind of cartoonish and cartoons don’t really age that much.”
"Even when I’m 90, I’ll still probably look about the same way. Just thicker make-up and bigger hair," added the "Here You Come Again" performer.
