Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavillās In the Grey currently tops the Starz streaming charts in the United States. Specifically, the action thriller claims the No. 1 spot on both the Starz movies and overall charts, according toĀ FlixPatrolĀ data for September 16, 2026. Meanwhile, the film sits ahead of Michael at No. 2 and Hierarchy at No. 3 on the movies list.
In the Grey follows a lawyer and her team of fixers as they attempt to recover a billion-dollar debt. Cavill stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza Gonzalez, Rosamund Pike, and Carlos Bardem in the film. Additionally, Ritchie wrote, produced, and directed the project, which Black Bear Pictures distributed.
The film first hit theaters on May 15, 2026, after facing multiple release date changes. Initially, Lionsgate purchased American distribution rights in October 2023 before pulling out. As a result, Black Bear Pictures ultimately handled the release independently in January 2026.

However, In the Grey earned just $27.8 million worldwide against a $70 million budget as of September 8, 2026. The film debuted to only $2.9 million domestically from 2,018 theaters during its opening weekend. Overall, it grossed $5.7 million in the United States and Canada alongside $22.1 million internationally.
Critics also gave the film mixed reviews upon its theatrical release earlier this year. The film holds a 52% approval rating onĀ Rotten TomatoesĀ from 66 criticsā reviews. Similarly,Ā MetacriticĀ assigned it a score of 53 out of 100 based on 16 critics.
Nevertheless, audiences responded more favorably, giving the film a āBā CinemaScore grade. PostTrak data showed 64% of polled viewers said they would ādefinitely recommendā the film. Notably, filming took place on Tenerife in the Canary Islands between September and late October 2023.
