Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon‘s renowned Apple TV show is officially coming to an end after its fifth season. Premiered in November 2019, the comedy-drama TV series was one of the very first Apple scripted original series.

As reported by Variety, The Morning Show will conclude with its fifth and final season, with the new episodes set to premiere in 2027. This marks the end for one of Apple’s most decorated series, which debuted on Apple TV+ in 2019.

Speaking with Variety, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon both shared their emotions about the show’s conclusion. Aniston said Apple supported the team’s vision from the very beginning and thanked the overall team for making the series. Meanwhile, Witherspoon added that the show was one of the biggest highlights in her career.

Created by Jay Carson, The Morning Show is based on Brian Stelter’s 2013 book Top of the Morning. It follows the people behind a popular morning news program as they experience the world of broadcast journalism. The series looks into their careers, personal lives, and the life inside a busy newsroom.

Apart from Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the lead roles, the series also stars Billy Crudup. The supporting cast includes Mark Duplass, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, and many others. Further, Season 5 will also feature new faces including Jeff Daniels, Renee Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes, and Lizzy Caplan.

Since its debut, The Morning Show has earned 28 Primetime Emmy nominations and four wins, two of which were won by Billy Crudup for his supporting role. The series has also garnered a positive reception with an overall 69% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 61 aggregator score on Metacritic.

The Morning Show has around 40 episodes in four seasons, all now available to stream on Apple TV.
