The Princess of Wales chose a distinctive Burberry coat today as she stepped out for a day of engagements on the Isle of Bute. Kate teamed the coat with a turtleneck jumper and brown skinny jeans as she and William arrived on the Scottish island for a day of engagements.
The Princess has long championed British brand Burberry, which holds a royal warrant from King Charles, through her choice of outfits for public appearances. She has worn the brand in Scotland previously. In 2023, she chose a green and black checked Burberry quilted jacket for a visit to Moray and Inverness.
Today’s specific coat was not instantly recognizable as one she has worn before, but the distinctive Burberry check was clearly visible in the coat’s lining.

Kensington Palace said the purpose of today was to “highlight the power of community, connection and volunteering, and to celebrate the generosity and dedication of local people who give their time to support and care for fellow islanders.”
“This is the first official visit by The Prince and Princess to the island, who also hold the titles of The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland,” the Palace said in a statement. “The day will include visiting their namesake town of Rothesay and follows their visits to the Isles of Mull and Iona last year.”
William and Kate began their trip with a stop at Bute Shinty Club in Rothesay, where shinty, one of Scotland's oldest traditional sports played with a curved wooden stick and leather ball, is played. Kate was pictured holding the sporting equipment as she chatted with people at the club. The royals were also scheduled to visit the community-owned Anchor Tavern Pub and meet with people working to protect the natural environment on Bute.
Their visit comes as Prince Harry is also out and about today at the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards. Harry’s return to the UK has put the feud between the brothers front and center.
