Katie Holmes has a deep appreciation for Joshua Jackson.
The actress, 47, gave her former Dawson's Creek costar a special shoutout at the world premiere of their upcoming movie, Happy Hours, at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, June 6.
Holmes directed and wrote the romantic drama, which is expected to be the first in a trilogy. She also stars in the movie alongside Jackson, 47. The two previously worked together in Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2003. In the early days of filming the hit teen show, they dated for about a year between 1998 and 1999.
"Josh, thank you for sharing this space with me again. You created the ideal creative experience for me years ago and again on this film," Holmes said while introducing Happy Hours at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York City.

Holmes continued to share that the movie is about "connection and reconnection, and our individual experiences that shape how we come together."
The actress also gave insight into the inspiring energy on set in her speech. "What you're about to see is a beautiful community of artists who inspire one another and support one another, and who said yes to this experience," she said. "Collaborating is not only fun, but essential and quite magical. We had a truly magical time making this film and I thank everyone for sharing this vision with me."
"Tonight is about this cast and crew. I truly love each and every one of you, and I really wanted the camera to echo the light in each of you," Holmes added.
Happy Hours also stars Mary-Louise Parker, Joe Tippett, Constance Wu and Jack Martin. In the movie, Holmes and Jackson play former lovers who reconnect years after their romance ended.

The Mad Money actress previously told Variety that she and Jackson have "changed a lot" since last working together 25 years ago.
"We also wanted to give ourselves the space to show different sides of ourselves and to not portray these people we're known for," she said.
In April, Holmes shared her excitement for the movie's premiere on social media.
"We are so thrilled to be a part of the Tribeca Film Festival this June with our film Happy Hours," she captioned an Instagram post that featured a photo of herself and Jackson. "So many beautiful people worked on this project. And working with Josh again was a dream."
