Previously appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show, Russell Brand mocked his ex-wife Katy Perry for her current relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Reacting to Perry’s budding romance with Trudeau, the English comedian laughed and said, “I’ve put up with a lot with that ex-wife of mine, but you took it too far, KP.”
Brand continued his jab, saying, “Orlando Bloom, I love that guy. Brilliant. Justin Trudeau, though, potentially Fidel Castro’s spawn. No, there we draw the line.”
However, that wasn’t the only time Brand recycled his comments about Perry and Trudeau. During a 2025 TPUSA event, he blended his public speech with Perry’s personal life.

Before making similar comments about Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship on The Megyn Kelly Show, Russell Brand had touched upon the topic at AmericaFest 2025.
Appearing at Turning Point USA’s event in Phoenix, the English comedian spoke openly about his ex-wife Perry and grabbed people’s attention with his remarks about Trudeau.
While sharing his views on politics, faith, and personal change, Brand suddenly shifted to his past marriage and his ex-wife’s current relationship with the former Canadian Prime Minister.
Claiming to “love her still,” the podcaster failed to refrain from commenting on Perry’s personal choices and love life. He then said he approved of Orlando Bloom, but not Trudeau.
“Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom’s in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was OK with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau?” Brand mocked.

He added, “Come on, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge.” Brand’s remarks come as he faces charges of s*xual assault and r*pe.
Russell Brand Makes Rare Comment About Failed Marriage With Perry
Amid Russell Brand’s repeated attacks on Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship, the comedian reflected on his failed marriage with the pop star.
During his podcast Stay Free with Russell Brand, in April 2025, Brand said, “What can I tell you is, when I was married to Katy Perry, she’s like a—not entirely normal.”
He explained, “because she’s an extraordinary, massive star—but she’s not weird or off-key, and wasn’t involved in anything nefarious, as far as I could tell.”
Brand added, “The reasons that a marriage didn’t work are the normal human reasons marriages don’t work, and I have nothing but respect for her.”
He continued, “I obviously disagree with her political views, but I probably disagree with some of my wife’s political views, my beloved wife, Laura Brand’s political views.”
