Leighton Meester opens up about what her perfect day off looks like in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE
When not juggling her hectic Hollywood career with being a mom and a wife, the actress says she has a few specific things she likes to do to unwind
Meester made her acting debut in 1999 and has worked steadily in the years since
Leighton Meester's perfect day off is quite simple.
"I do love to go to a spa and have a spa day," the actress, 39, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. "And I do love getting off my phone."
"I love sitting and reading, and I love doing puzzles," Meester — who continues her ongoing partnership with Godiva — adds.
"But, more than anything, I think self-care for me does look like just speaking positively to myself," she further explains.

Meester leads a very busy life — juggling the professional part of her hectic Hollywood career with the personal aspect of being a wife to husband Adam Brody and a mom to their two kids.
She and The O.C. alum wed in 2014 and are parents to a daughter named Arlo, born in 2015, and a son, whose name has not been revealed, who later expanded their family in 2020.

Meester and Brody, 46, will mix personal with professional from time to time, as they've worked on various projects together over the years.
Some include films like River Wild and Life Partners, as well as television series such as Nobody Wants This and Good Cop/Bad Cop.

Meester made her acting debut through Law & Order in 1999. She then took on parts in various film and television projects, but Meester was thrust into international fame in 2007 for her fan-favorite role in Gossip Girl.
In the years to follow, the star continued her entertainment industry career, performed in a Broadway production of Of Mice and Men and released music, including her 2014 album Heartstrings.
Most recently, alongside her two projects with husband Brody, Meester had roles in The Buccaneers and I Love LA.
As for what's next? Meester teases she has a few exciting projects in the works — but can't say much about them. "I wish I did have something that I could tell you about, but it's all secret," she tells PEOPLE with a sly smile.
