BUFFALO, N.Y. — Down rookie right tackle Blake Miller (knee) and left guard Christian Mahogany (hip), the Detroit Lions have used a couple of practice squad elevations ahead of their Week 2 bout with the Buffalo Bills, temporarily promoting offensive tackle Devin Cochran and center Seth McLaughin to the active roster.

Cochran figures to provide the Lions with depth at tackle, behind starters Penei Sewell and Larry Borom. He's made nine appearances (one start) in the NFL since signing with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2022. This is Cochran’s second season with the Lions.

McLaughlin was on Detroit’s initial 53-man roster coming out of camp, but was waived and brought back on the practice squad in the days that followed. He provides depth in the middle, backing up Juice Scruggs.

Also added to Detroit’s active roster for Thursday’s game was defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike, who was signed, not elevated. Onwuzurike was previously on the practice squad. The Lions had an open spot on their 53-man roster, so a corresponding move wasn’t necessary.
