Nicola Peltz Beckham's love life grabbed headlines well before she married Brooklyn Beckham.

Hailing from a wealthy New York family, the actress has been in the spotlight from a young age. She started acting when she was about 10 years old and achieved her breakout role as Bradley Martin in the thriller series Bates Motel in 2013. The recognition from her roles only increased after she started dating a member of another wealthy, well-known family: Anwar Hadid.

They were publicly linked for two years until 2018. After their split, the Lola actress briefly dated LANY frontman Paul Klein.

Though Nicola met her future husband in 2017, they were both in relationships at the time. They reconnected in 2019 and got married three years later. Brooklyn has stood by his wife throughout the ongoing drama with his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, who he claimed have tried to "ruin" his relationship.

"My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one," he shared in an emotional statement posted to his Instagram Stories on Jan. 19. "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."

Nicola and Anwar, the younger brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid, started seeing each other sometime in 2016. After they both uploaded photos with each other on their respective Instagram accounts, the actress confirmed their relationship in an interview with Women's Wear Daily.

"We're hanging out," she told the outlet in January 2017, adding that Anwar came from "an amazing family." Nicola also described his sisters as "so sweet" and "strong."

Though she and Anwar broke up in 2018, Nicola seemed to remain close to at least some of his relatives. Gigi was reportedly a guest at her 2022 wedding to Brooklyn, per Vanity Fair. In 2026, she was cast in Ryan Murphy's body-horror show The Beauty alongside Bella.

However, not everyone in Anwar's family appeared supportive of the relationship. His older sister, Alana Hadid, weighed in on an Instagram post from pop culture account Saint Hoax, which had shared memes about the Beckham family drama. In a comment referencing Nicola, Alana wrote, “that girl doesn’t want privacy she’s been trying to be famous for a decade 😂😂😂😂.”

After splitting up with Anwar, Nicola was briefly linked to LANY's lead singer in 2018. During their months-long romance, she modeled for the cover of his band's 2018 single "Thru These Tears".

Though Paul has never confirmed if any of his songs were written about Nicola or his other famous exes — such as Dua Lipa — he did tell PEOPLE in an August 2023 interview that "nothing is off limits."

"I've never called anyone to be like, 'Hey, I wrote this album about you, hope you love it or hope you hate it,' " he said. "The ethos of LANY is candidness and openness, and saying things how they are, and that's just how we write songs."

Though the relationship didn't last long, it appeared that the two split on amicable terms. Nicola wrote in a since-deleted post on X in February 2019 that they had gone their "separate ways" but that she wished him "all the best."

Though they first met at Coachella in 2017, Brooklyn and Nicola didn't start dating until October 2019 when they reconnected at Leonardo DiCaprio's Halloween party. She asked him for help getting one of her friends inside, and he "didn't hesitate."

"Two days later, we had our first kiss," she told Glamour in June 2025. "That’s when the story really began."

Months after making their relationship Instagram official in January 2020, the couple got engaged. Brooklyn shared in a July 2020 Instagram post that he had popped the question to his "soulmate" two weeks prior, and that she said yes.

On April 9, 2022, Nicola and Brooklyn tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at her family's estate in Palm Beach, Fla. Though the wedding looked like a near-perfect affair online, the eldest Beckham later revealed that family drama cast an unfortunate shadow over their big day.

“The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family,' " Brooklyn wrote on his Instagram Stories. "My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song ... She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."

The couple renewed their vows in August 2025, a decision they reportedly made in light of what happened at their wedding three years earlier. "We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment," Brooklyn revealed in his Instagram statement.

Despite the drama with the Beckhams, the husband and wife have remained supportive of one another. So much so that Brooklyn has over 20 tattoos dedicated to Nicola, including a large portrait of her on his right shoulder.

"I'm half-covered with stuff for her," he said in a February 2023 interview with E! News' The Rundown. "They're very addictive. Especially when you love someone, you just want to cover everything."
