The season 2 finale included a sneak peek into the next season
The second season ended on a major cliffhanger
Though Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 ended on a major cliffhanger, fans won't have to wait long to see what happens next!
The Disney+ series wrapped its second season with a dramatic twist on Jan. 21, but at the same time, it was revealed that the third season is already in production and will air later this year. Season 3 is an adaptation of Rick Riordanās best-selling Percy Jackson book, The Titanās Curse, Disney announced in a press release.
While an official synopsis has not been announced, viewers got to see a surprise first look at season 3 during the credits of the season 2 finale. The sneak peek showed a highly anticipated dance scene between Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians executive producer Craig Silverstein teased to Entertainment Weekly that viewers may be "surprised" to see things "that happen outside of Percy's point of view" in season 3.
Here's everything to know about the dramatic Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 ending and everything to know about season 3.

In a shock to Percy Jackson and the Olympians readers, the season 2 finale introduced a twist that departed from Riordan's book series.
In the final moments of season 2, Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart) is revealed to be alive and explains that she didn't actually fight the Furies but rather her father, Zeus, transformed her into the tree at Camp Half-Blood's border. The Furies had already been killed by Zeus after they informed Thalia of the Great Prophecy and her dad's plans to use her as a weapon.
Zeus ordered the only witness of the altercation, Chiron (Glynn Turman), to lie and say that Thalia had died.
However, the Golden Fleece healed the tree and resurrected Thalia ā shocking both Percy and Annabeth. While Annabeth appears thrilled by the revelation, Percy is much more concerned. After all, he just learned that Thalia ā who could control the entire fate of Olympus ā wants revenge against Zeus and the other gods.
"You guys get nightmares, right? Well, not like mine," Percy ominously says in the final moments of season 2. "Because mine just woke up."
What will Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 be about?

Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be based on Riordan's third book in his series, The Titanās Curse.
The 2007 novel revolves around Percy and his friends trying to find Artemis after she appears to have been kidnapped. The group of friends "must find Artemis before the winter solstice, when her influence on the Olympian Council could swing an important vote on the war with the titans," per the book's description.
"Not only that, but first Percy will have to solve the mystery of a rare monster that Artemis was hunting when she disappeared ā a monster rumored to be so powerful it could destroy Olympus forever," it continues.
However, since the second season's ending differed from the book's ending, readers may be in for new surprises in season 3.
"A lot of the things that you think are in season 3 that might be changed, take a look at them again with the changes in season 2 and imagine them with those changes applied," executive producer Craig Silverstein told EW. "And maybe they don't go away ā maybe they're even stronger, those turns. Everything's informed by the most consequential decision and change we've made of bringing the Great Prophecy forward."
Silverstein added that viewers should especially be on the lookout for Percy's "fatal flaw," which is "clearly going to be active in season 3."
In addition to the major twist of Thalia's survival, viewers may also get to see more of the "slow burn" between Percy and Annabeth.
"In Season 3, we pull back a little bit," Scobell told Variety. "We donāt lean into it as much. Itās more like heās trying to get to her over anything. But thatās just like Percy; itās like getting to Grover. He really cares about her, and I donāt think itās like a romantic thing yet. I mean, he still has two love interests to go, so thatās what also makes it difficult."
Fans also don't have as much guidance for which parts of the book could make the series or not, since it was never adapted into a movie ā unlike the first two books.
"I almost feel like thereās less pressure, because I donāt think thereās anything to really compare it to," Scobell told Variety. "I thought Logan Lerman had a wonderful performance as Percy Jackson, but now Iām on my own."

Other core cast members ā such as Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer and Lin-Manuel Miranda ā are also expected to reprise their roles.
In addition to returning characters, Riordan announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2025 that Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie were joining the season 3 cast as demigod siblings Nico di Angelo and Bianca di Angelo, respectively. The on-screen siblings are set to play a major role in the plot as Hades' children.
