Ex-Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed a new contract to become a member of the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad.

Valdes-Scantling played in Kansas City during the Chiefs' 2022 and 2023 campaigns and was a key contributor to the team's Super Bowl LVII and LVIII victories.

The former Southern Florida Bulls standout began his career in professional football as a fifth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2018 NFL Draft, and is now set to play for his ninth franchise.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported Valdes-Scantling's signing with Los Angeles in a post to his official Twitter account on Tuesday, September 15:

While it remains to be seen if the Chargers will elect to lean on Valdes-Scantling during the 2026 regular season, his addition to Los Angeles' practice squad will provide star quarterback Justin Herbert and head coach Jim Harbaugh with an experienced option in the passing game during the team's weekly workouts.
