The Beach Boys Postpone Summer Tour Dates as Mike Love Says Band Is ‘Taking a Short Break to Recharge’

The Beach Boys postponed summer tour dates but will resume performances in September with rescheduled shows

Mike Love highlighted the band’s celebration of Pet Sounds’ 60th anniversary in a statement

The Beach Boys are taking some time off the road.

This week, the “Good Vibrations” band — featuring original member Mike Love and several touring musicians — postponed all of its Endless Summer Gold Tour dates between July 23 and Sept. 3.

“Playing for you is the highlight of our summer every year — especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while saluting the 60th Anniversary of Pet Sounds,” began a statement from the band shared to Love’s Instagram.

He explained, “We’ve been having a blast out there, and to keep the good vibrations going strong, we’ll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September.”

“Thanks for your understanding,” read Love’s note. “We can’t wait to see you back out there.”

Love shared rescheduled dates for the shows and informed fans their tickets for the original dates will be honored. “Thanks for your love—we can’t wait to see you back out there for a September to Remember,” he concluded.

The vocalist recently spoke to PEOPLE about the 60th anniversary of Pet Sounds and how the late Brian Wilson (who died at age 82 in June 2025) helped usher in a new sound for the band.

“It showed what Brian was capable of when left to just do what he wanted to do, which is songwriting, production and recording. Pet Sounds was the absolute testament to that,” said Love of the classic album, which features the hits “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows.”

Also in June 2025, Love was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. “It’s really great to to have my contribution to the Beach Boys music finally recognized, so it’s a great honor,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “I’m being inducted into an organization that has so many fantastic talented people, so it’s an enormous honor.”
