The Odyssey star tells ICE supporters 'Don't watch my movies' in resurfaced post

John Leguizamo made it clear he doesn't want any fans who support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The Colombian-American actor, 66, stars in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey.' The Hollywood blockbuster, an adaptation of Homer's epic poem of the same name, was released in theatres on Friday, July 17. John portrays Odysseus' (played by Matt Damon) blind servant Eumaeus.
A January video of John decrying ICE on his Instagram has resurfaced online. John has always been an outspoken critic of ICE, especially of Donald Trump's immigration policies. The recirculation of the video comes as ICE recently killed two Latino men in Texas and Maine.

John posted the video on January 28 and captioned it "Abolish ice!" The Encanto star said bluntly in the brief clip, "If you follow ICE, unfollow me. Don't come to my show and don't watch my movies."
John's statement came following the deaths of two US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were fatally shot by ICE in January. Their murders further led to a national outcry and protests around the nation.

Along with Renee and Alex, there were a lot of other incidents of civilians and immigrants dying by ICE's hand as well as in the federal agency's custody, such as Keith Porter Jr., Luis Gustavo Núñez Cáceres, Pejman Karshenas Najafabadi, Jairo García-Hernández, Emmanuel Cleeford Damas, and many more.
In January, John participated in The People's Filibuster protest alongside the NYC Theater community, elected officials, and community leaders. The protest was to stand in solidarity with the people of Minnesota amid the current ICE killings and to speak up about the injustice.
Some of the prominent participants at the event included Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sara Bareilles, Oscar Isaac, Christine Baranski, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Cynthia Nixon.
John is also known for advocating for the Latine community, not only in the entertainment industry but in everyday life. In January 2025, he blasted Trump's mass deportation in his second presidential term.
In an Instagram video that John posted, he condemned Trump's deportation policy, stating that it "dehumanizes" the Latin community.

He also noted that he was "very offended" by this "attack" on Latin immigrants and how Trump's language of calling them "animals and criminals" is "unacceptable."
"My immigrant brothers and sisters I know you're not felons, I know you're not criminals, I know you're not drug dealers—you're the hardest working people in America. You inspire me and I feel pain for your plight," John said.
He added that it "breaks [his] heart" seeing Latin people and bodies being "treated this way." John stated that people need to "stand up for each other," not be silent during Trump's presidency, and act.
