Jaime King and her second husband, Austin Sosa, are going their separate ways.
After the Hart of Dixie alum was spotted leaving a West Hollywood salon wearing an engagement ring in July 2025, PEOPLE confirmed that she was engaged to Sosa. At the time, the actress' rep told PEOPLE that King is "grateful" for the support from fans.
While it remains unclear when they got married, Sosa filed for divorce from King on Jan. 22, per court documents viewed by PEOPLE. In a statement obtained by PEOPLE one day later, Hart said she was "completely blindsided" when Sosa filed for divorce, as she believed they were "working on" their relationship.
King and Sosa's relationship has been largely kept private, though the White Chicks star has had several relationships in the public eye, including her tumultuous split from ex-husband Kyle Newman. After their divorce was finalized in 2023, Newman was granted sole physical custody of their sons, James and Leo, in March 2025.

Sosa, a Brigham Young University alum, has held many roles in the banking industry. Per his LinkedIn, he began his career as a private equity associate in September 2016, and has since worked as an investment banker.
Sosa currently works as a Los Angeles-based investor, a role he has been in since August 2023.
They met through mutual friends

During an episode of Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald that was released in September 2025, King shared some more insight into the early days of her and Sosa's relationship.
King told the host that she and Sosa "met through mutual friends."
They kept their relationship private, and it wasn't until their engagement was confirmed that King mentioned him in a joint Instagram post, which included a carousel of images of the actress with her children.
"My God, I am the luckiest and most great mother ever," she captioned the post. "Thank you to Pammy, Chase, Austin, Gwendolyn and Carlos. Family forever 🎀💅🏻💯💗."
Their engagement was confirmed in July 2025

The Sin City actress first sparked engagement speculation in early July 2025, when she was spotted wearing a new diamond ring.
King's rep confirmed the actress and Sosa's engagement to PEOPLE, sharing that she was "especially happy to share this moment with her children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family."
"As always, her sons remain her top priority, and she kindly asks for privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude," King's rep said.
As their engagement news went public, a source told PEOPLE that King is "very close with his family," noting that she was "staying with his parents after she moved out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year.”
Sosa filed for divorce in January 2026 after secretly marrying

Nearly seven months after their engagement was confirmed, Sosa filed for divorce from King on Jan. 22, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. It remains unclear when the pair got married.
In her statement obtained by PEOPLE the next day, King said the divorce filing "came out of nowhere."
"I was with Austin the night before it became public, and while like many marriages we had normal challenges, I genuinely believed we were working on our relationship," she wrote.
King added, "My focus right now is my work and, above all, my children. [...] This is deeply personal and should remain private, and I hope people will stop making assumptions— particularly ones that unfairly and disproportionately scrutinize women for simply doing their jobs."
