- Whoopi Goldberg had a moment with an audience member live on *The View.* - The EGOT winner called out a man who looked like Barack Obama, she said. - "Is the president here?" Goldberg said, before opening her arms and shouting, "Obama!"

Whoopi Goldberg just helped inaugurate a Barack Obama lookalike into *The View*'s studio audience.

The EGOT winner kicked off Thursday's live show by freaking out over an audience member who, as the *Ghost* star said, looked strikingly similar to President Obama.

"Hello, hello, hello, welcome to *The View*!" Goldberg said as she took her seat at the Hot Topics table, before quickly asking her cohosts, "You see the man that looks like Obama? You see the man that looks like Obama up there?"

Goldberg then pointed to the man, with panelist Sunny Hostin exclaiming, "Oh! You do!" when she spotted the attendee in the crowd.

"I was like, is the president here?" Goldberg admitted, before turning toward the man and pointing once again.

"Look at Obama! Obama!" Goldberg shouted with her arms out, all while the audience applauded the man, who smiled and put his head down in the moment.

Goldberg explained to the audience, "I saw you out of the corner of my eye, and I thought, no... I just had to say it!"

Before the show moved on as planned, Joy Behar made a joke about the man's singing abilities.**** "Let's see if he can sing 'Let's Stay Together,'" Behar quipped, referencing Obama's iconic 2012 rendition of Al Green's hit song at an event in New York City.

Outside of his doppelgänger's appearance on Thursday's live show, Obama himself has actually appeared as a guest on *The View* in the past.

Obama famously sat for an interview on the talk show during a 2010 appearance on season 13, which saw the studio audience at the time greet him with a standing ovation that lasted for over 30 seconds.

Hostin has also invoked Obama on the air in the past, specifically with regard to Donald Trump. The legal expert said on the show that Obama "lives rent-free" in Trump's head for various reasons, including for his marriage to Michelle Obama and his "swag" that Trump will, in her opinion, "never have."
