*Saturday Night Live *alum Bowen Yang is looking back on the time that he, Kristen Wiig, Seth Meyers, and Maya Rudolph served as presenters at the Emmys. It wasn't as glamorous as it sounds.

"Another thing that I will never forget is: Remember the four versions of the presenter copy we had for the Emmys that one year?" Yang asked Wiig when she was a guest on a recent episode of his *Las Culturistas* podcast with Matt Rogers. "Because we weren't sure if Maya was going to make it, because she was sick. Seth was maybe not going to be able to do it."

It was a hectic situation, but Yang noted that it was also surreal for him.

"I can't believe this. It was me, you, Seth, and Maya presenting, walking up, doing a bit about [show creator Lorne Michaels] winning too many Emmys or something."

With so many possibilities, Yang and Wiig were pressed for time.**

"Kristen and I were in that dressing room with our pencils, while Matt Bomer was sitting in the other corner, wanting to say hi to us," he said. "And we're like, 'We're in the middle of something.'"

Wiig suggested that they had at least said hello, and Yang confirmed that they had.

"We said hello. We weren't rude," Yang said. "But you and I were locked in."

Wiig noted that they'd had no choice but to be.

"We gotta rewrite this," she said. "Show's in 10."

Yang explained that there were multiple drafts of copy, which depended on whether Michaels won again that night or whether Wiig's *Bridesmaids* costar attended after all.

They agreed that, looking back on the night now, it had been "so fun."

The moment — in which they presented the award in the category of Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special — also marked 50 years of the comedy show. All four of the performers ended up on stage in a bit that began on a serious note.

Rudolph inaccurately noted that Michaels had been nominated for 85 of the awards and had lost them all. Meyers quickly explained that Michaels had, in fact, won before. He now has a total of 24 Emmys and more than 100 nominations, according to the Television Academy, which bestows the accolades.**

"You do have value," Wiig told him out in the audience. "You are worthy. And you are not and have never been a loser even though you have lost a lot."

Yang joined Wiig, Rudolph, and Meyers as a former *SNL* cast member when he departed the show in December.
